Yaniv! Card Game: One of the most addicting Card Games on the planet. It's easy and simple to learn, but more experienced players know there's a deep level of strategy. Now, for the first time, you can play this game alone against computer players. Options include: picking from among six different card decks, changing the game speed, and selecting a score limit.
I first learned of this game while studying abroad in New Zealand. My friends and I met Israeli travellers while we were camping on a mountain and they taught us how to play by candlelight in our hut.
I have programmed a addicting and fun version of the Yaniv Card Game, freely available for everyone. In it, you can battle three other computer players for total Yaniv domination!
5/9/2011 - Next up: iPhone and Android applications for Yaniv Card Game! I'll be working with a small contingent of developers to bring you unique, high-quality applications that should be loads of fun anywhere you go with your phone! Stay tuned because more great Yaniv products will be coming out soon!
1/3/2011 - I'm currently working on a Netbook version of Yaniv so you can play it on the smaller screens! It should be available soon. Also for you Mac users, until I have a fix for the JAVA version, I've found a temporary solution using using some open-source software called Wine. If you would like to install Yaniv on a Mac, please let me know so I can give further help and instructions.
12/23/2010 - It's been a long time since I've worked on Yaniv! But for the last week I've been working part time on a new version of Yaniv that can play on mac and linux. I re-wrote the game in JAVA, so it has been an interesting experience seeing all of the differences from C#. However, I'm having some issues with some aspects of gameplay so if anyone knows their JAVA or netbeans well, please send me an email as you could help get this sucker realeased sooner! And of course added to the credits. Please email me at danielevans.itconsultant@gmail.com
1/25/2010 - First release of the new decade! Yaniv v2.8 is out now! Just a slight change in this version. Now, at the end of each round, you can actually see what cards were in the computer player's hand. However, I had to spread out the distance between the cards which means I had to make the entire game window slightly wider, thus taking up more of your screen.
12/23/2009 - Yaniv v2.7 is available for download! There are more sound effects now as well as an 'undo' button. This allows you to put the card(s) you threw back into your hand. This comes in very handy!
12/21/2009 - Yaniv v2.5 has been released today! In this update, Yaniv is finally played the way it was meant to be played! For the first time, the winner of the round gets to play first, instead of the human player always going first no matter what. This gives the winning player an advantage which means the game now becomes slightly harder and more complex.
12/13/2009 - Yaniv v2.1 is now out! The game remains the same, however its underlying architecture has been dramatically changed, which allows for fewer bugs as well as easier future upgrades!
12/11/2009 - Yaniv has been accepted to be hosted on CNET's download.com! This is the #1 software download website in the world!
11/22/2009 - Yaniv v2.0 now out! In this exciting new release, you can actually WIN the game! That's right, once a player exceeds a score limit (which you decide) that player is then OUT of the game. You keep going until only one player is left, and that person is declared the winner! Exciting.
11/20/2009 - Yaniv v1.9 out today! Now you can choose from SIX different decks to play with! Plus some bugs fixed as well as some corrected stability issues. Download today!
11/17/2009 - Yaniv v1.5 out today! Entirely new UI enhancements AND new options including ability to change Yaniv number, eg. 10, 7, or 5
11/15/2009 - Yaniv v1.2 out today! There is now an options menu available to choose player names as well as play speed
The game wouldn't be what it is today without great suggestions from many different people! If you have a suggestion or feature you would like to see added to the next version of Yaniv, please let me know at danielevans.itconsultant@gmail.com
